    Job Summary

    This Research Scientist is responsible for the development, design and layout of CKWRI’s annual report, CKWRI’s Wildlife Research Newsletter, and any technical and special publications. Position is part-time (40%) for 1 year and but may be extended based on available funding. Position is located in Kingsville, TX.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Designs, and executes comprehensive plan to gather the necessary materials from research personnel to meet project objectives.

    + Coordinates, collects, proofreads and edits research content for the annual report and other assigned publications including executive summary or letter.

    + Develops design and layout for CKWRI’s annual report, Wildlife Research Newsletter, and other technical and special publications.

    + Ensures all content aligns with organization objectives and direction from Executive Director and that it conforms with guidelines from TAMUK’s Office of Marketing and Communications.

    + Create and manage a detailed project timeline for the annual report’s and newsletter’s production, ensuring all deadlines are met. Develop and initiates bid process and follow process through final payment.

    Additional Responsibilities

    Coordinate with CKWRI’s Executive Director and authors in production of any technical or special publication.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education – Ph.D. in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Experience – Six years of related experience.

     

    Knowledge of – Knowledge of report writing with wildlife research emphasis. Knowledge of statistical analyses and data presentation, especially for lay audiences. Knowledge of applied wildlife and rangeland research and/or basic sciences and scientific publications.

     

    Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to present information clearly and concisely to a lay audience. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a background in wildlife and rangeland research. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines once given a project.

     

    Supervision of Others

     

    May supervise employees.
