    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for the day to day operations of the hospital’s rehabilitation service line, including department organization, staffing, workload/productivity management, fiscal management, quality/outcomes and clinical performance of the department(s). Participates as an integral member of the hospital’s and the St. David’s Healthcare Rehabilitation Services management team. Included are expectations for provision of high quality, cost-effective programs and services that are responsive to customer needs.

     

    + You will participate in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

    + You will, in collaboration with the other members of the Round Rock Medical Center and St. David’s Healthcare System, oversee the administrative function of the Rehabilitation Services, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Inpatient Rehab and Sleep Lab Departments

    + You will coordinate and direct the daily activities of the department(s) associated with the service line.

    + You will maintain awareness of the inter-relationships among activities in the department(s), and plans work assignments and resource allocation to maximize productivity and maintain quality.

    + You will apply professional and technical knowledge of operations to correct or address a situation taking into consideration the full range of available facts.

    + You will develop and monitor compliance with productivity standards and operating budgets, making appropriate changes to achieve compliance. Communicate issues as needed with Administration

    + You will understand the principles & dynamics of financial management and take action that is consistent with both the short term and long term financial health of the departments & the organization

    + You will understand the financial nuances of the department(s) and generate strategic options, new approaches, and possibilities to improve cost effectiveness of the organization.

    + You will prepare initial draft of annual budget for review working in collaboration with the COO to anticipate departmental needs.

    + You will monitor compliance with budget expectations and continuously examine opportunities to enhance fiscal performance.

    + You will initiate appropriate responses to alleviate variances in productivity, expense, or revenue performance areas.

    + You will manage the human resources function of the department (s)

    + You will select effective and qualified staff per established job descriptions and procedures

    + You will address staff performance issues, providing appropriate feedback as necessary

    + You will give praise and credit to others and publicly acknowledges good performance and positive contributions to the department(s)

    + You will complete performance appraisals for direct reports following company guidelines.

    + You will maintain current records, licenses, contracts and agreements specific to staff in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

    + You will ensure employee participation in mandatory and continuing education requirements. Seek alternative learning opportunities for staff

    + You will respond promptly to any issues of concern from all data sources including, but not limited to, patient satisfaction survey, physician satisfaction survey, employee satisfaction survey, or expressed concerns from any customer.

    + You will participate in marketing plan development and implementation

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Science such as PT, OT, SLP or higher level equivalency.

    + Three (3) years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting in a leadership or supervisory role.

    + Current Texas Licensure of LPT or LOT

    + Current BLS for Providers from American Red Cross or American Heart Association at the time of hire and ongoing.
