    Party Chief (Surveyor)

    Job Description:

    1.\tSupervises and trains Instrument Operators and Surveyor Assistants.

    2.\tLeads the survey field crew and directs the work.

    3.\tWorks outdoors in all weather conditions.

    4.\tWork at elevation on structures. Collect survey data and perform layouts in accordance with Bechtel Surveying Procedures.

    5.\tMarks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark.

    6.\tCarries and sets stakes and clears brush from survey lines.

    7.\tStake and grade for excavation.

    8.\tOperates survey instruments and obtains data pertaining to angles, elevations, points and contours.

    9.\tCompiles notes, sketches, and records of data obtained, and work performed.

    10.\tCommunicate with Field Engineers and Supervisors

    11.\tWork under time constraints and be adaptable to changing conditions.

    12.\tAssists in establishing horizontal and vertical control for the project.

    13.\tReviews design drawing for correct data, perform and check calculations

    14.\tLoads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.

    15.\tPerforms minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.

    16.\tAssists in lifting, positioning and securing materials and work pieces during installation.

    17.\tAdheres to safety procedures.
