    Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division’s JetPipe® electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

     

    This function involves a combination of financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting to ensure accurate accounting and

     

    financial control for the plant. Position involves the administration of payroll, month end close activities, inventory, accounts payable, and the

     

    analysis of cost information.

     

    The responsibility requires a close working relationship with all departments within the plant to accomplish objectives in the accounting

     

    department. Works closely with the Division Accounting Department and Corporate Accounting Department in order to maintain corporate

     

    and divisional policies and practices.

     

    - Audit of stockroom inventories as well as accurate work in process inventory.

     

    - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close entries and account reconciliations.

     

    - Participate in the evaluation of capital expenditure proposals, analyzing the potential returns and risks.

     

    - Performs cost analysis including analyzing production costs, identifying cost saving opportunities, and recording of monthly cost of goods sold.

     

    - Directs general accounting transactions, accounts payable invoicing, and inventory control procedures between plant and division.

     

    - Initiates all reports as required by local, divisional and corporate accounting on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

     

    - Helps maintain and improve internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations. This may involve participating in internal audits.

     

    - Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.

     

    - Work closely with other departments, such as operations, supply chain and human resources to understand their needs and provide accurate and timely financial information.

     

    - Responsible for all plant asset inventory controls, including physical inventory coordination and fixed asset maintenance.

     

    - Review and maintain local time keeping system and participate in the weekly processing of payroll.

     

    Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Accounting. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through six or more years of related experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

     

    Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, laws, and regulations, including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques. Proficient with automated accounting systems, spreadsheet applications, and internet/intranet communications. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial reports. Ability to prepare detailed reports, graphs, presentations, and business correspondence. Ability to respond to questions from management and customers; respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
