    We're hiring a VP of Training and New Shop Openings in our DC office!

     

    The Vice President of Training & New Shop Openings will lead the strategy and execution of training programs and new shop openings across CYM, ensuring every team member is equipped to deliver exceptional experiences and every new shop launches with excellence. This role is central to scaling CYM’s vibrant culture while maintaining consistency and high standards as the brand grows.

     

    As a culture champion, the VP will work closely with the heads of Training and New Shop Openings, and cross-functional leaders to foster an inclusive, fun, and high-energy environment where team members of all levels feel supported from day one. This role ensures that both new and existing shops are set up for success through best-in-class training programs that reflect CYM’s core values and operational standards.

     

    With a focus on growth, the VP will design scalable systems for training and opening processes that deliver consistency across markets while celebrating the unique personality of each shop. The VP will also track key training and opening metrics to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability, ensuring that CYM’s rapid expansion is rooted in strong foundations.

     

    This role is vital to taking CYM to the next level, guiding the company through its ambitious growth while staying true to its roots. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in multi-unit restaurant training and new shop openings with strong leadership to elevate CYM’s guest and team experience, driving success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Your core responsibilities will be:

    Leadership & Strategy

     

    + Develop and execute a holistic training and new shop opening strategy that aligns with company goals and growth plans.

    + Lead and mentor the Director of Learning & Development and Director of New Shop Openings, and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

    + Partner with Operations, Development, HR, and Marketing to ensure alignment on standards, culture, and execution across all shops.

     

    Training

     

    + Oversee the creation and delivery of scalable training programs for shop-level employees, managers, and leaders across all markets.

    + Ensure training content reflects operational excellence, brand standards, and company culture.

     

    Continuously evaluate training programs to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability.

     

    + Manage and develop the training team to create a best in class training program and achieve company and department goals.

     

    New Shop Openings (NSOs)

     

    + Oversee the planning and execution of new shop openings across multiple markets.

    + Ensure training, staffing, and operational readiness for every new shop.

    + Develop processes and playbooks to streamline openings while maintaining high-quality standards.

    + Collaborate cross-functionally to align timelines, budgets, and execution plans.

    + Manage and develop the NSO team to create a best in class opening program and achieve company and NSO goals.

     

    Operational Excellence

     

    + Set and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of training and new shop opening success.

    + Ensure all training and opening processes are scalable to support aggressive growth targets.

    + Lead continuous improvement efforts by leveraging feedback, data, and industry best practices.

    You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you:

    + Minimum of 10 years of experience in multi-unit restaurant operations (QSR preferred), with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

    + Proven track record of developing and leading training programs for 20+ shops across multiple markets.

    + Direct experience leading new shop opening training for at least 15 shops in a single year.

    + Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including food safety, inventory management, labor optimization, and guest service.

    + Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.

    + Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across departments.

    + Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt to changing priorities.

    + Ability to travel to oversee training in multiple markets.
