Production/ Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

+ Serve as the primary technical contact for production-related issues, ensuring rapid resolution and implementing long-term corrective actions.

+ Manage non-conforming materials and lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, and DMAIC.

+ Create and update shop orders, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to support continuous production flow.

+ Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation for production test hardware.

+ Collaborate with design, quality, and test engineering teams to support both development and production programs.

+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other Operational Excellence methodologies.

+ Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electronic systems.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in manufacturing engineering, testing, and troubleshooting.

+ Proficiency in working with mechanical and electronic systems.

+ CAD software proficiency, including SolidWorks, NX, and Unigraphics.

+ Direct manufacturing experience and root cause analysis skills.

+ Experience managing nonconformances and improving processes on the production floor.

+ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

+ Experience in low-rate, high-complexity manufacturing environments.

+ Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.

+ Proficient in root cause analysis methodologies such as Fishbone Diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis, and DMAIC.

+ Experience with automated manufacturing processes and test methods at component, subsystem, and system levels.

+ Knowledge of QTP/ATP, functional testing, and environmental testing including thermal, acoustic, and vibration.

+ Strong experience in electrical system design, metrology, and mechanical failure analysis.

+ Demonstrated technical writing skills for documentation such as test plans, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.

Work Environment

The position is onsite in Kirkland, working a 4/10 schedule.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66.70 - $66.70/hr.
