    Job Title: Product Design Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to support the manufacturing of custom doors for both consumer and commercial markets. The role involves taking blueprints of buildings and using those measurements to customize the mechanical design of doors in AutoCAD 2D for fabrication. Additionally, you will design the door in 3D to present the overall design to customers before manufacturing. Your industry experience will be vital in spearheading product development and guiding junior product engineers within the team.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the mechanical design of custom doors using AutoCAD 2D and 3D modeling software.

    + Support the manufacturing process by providing detailed blueprints and design specifications.

    + Customize door designs based on building measurements and customer requirements.

    + Act as a mentor and leader to junior product engineers, fostering their growth and development.

    + Collaborate with the fabrication team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 2D and 3D modeling.

    + Minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience in doors, shutters, and grilles.

    + Strong skills in design, detailing, blueprint reading, and fabrication processes.

    + Experience with Inventor software for design tasks.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    + Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

    Work Environment

    The role will begin with a two-month period in the fabrication shop to gain hands-on experience with door manufacturing processes. This experience is crucial for understanding how to design and detail door manufacturing for fabricators. Following this, the focus will shift to designing current stock doors and eventually moving into custom design work. The work environment encourages collaboration and innovation, with opportunities for professional growth.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Lewisburg, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

     

    Medical/Dental, 401k, benefits are day 1

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Lewisburg,TN.
