Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
You will work in a fast-paced environment within the Immunotherapy department, focusing on creating and shipping specific vaccines for pets. Your work will contribute to innovative solutions in veterinary care.
Responsibilities
+ Work under a laminar flow hood with raw materials.
+ Apply basic microbiology techniques, including aseptic techniques.
+ Extract fluid from one container and add it into a vial using a syringe while utilizing sterile technique.
+ Document processes and perform data entry.
+ Order and stock products.
+ Label and package products to be sent to customers.
+ Clean the lab and surrounding areas.
+ Rotate between various roles in the lab for variety.
+ Read and verify numbers quickly to ensure correct allergens and lot numbers.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in microbiology, aseptic technique, and sterilization.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Comfortable with standing and sitting for long periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Work Environment
The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. You will work in a team-focused, fast-paced laboratory environment that involves 50% lab work and 50% labeling and packaging. The job requires wearing a sterile gown, lab coat, and goggles, which can be warm. The environment is dynamic and provides an opportunity to be part of a growing team.

This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
