Job Title: Field Service TechnicianJob Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will provide expert service and troubleshooting for equipment in the field and at our facility. You will assist in building, assembling, and validating new designs and improvements through rigorous machine testing. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineers, R&D specialists, and customers to refine product performance and reliability. Documentation and reporting are key aspects of this role, as you will maintain accurate records of tests, service activities, and findings to support continuous improvement. You may also occasionally travel to customer sites to provide hands-on support and training.

Responsibilities

+ Provide expert service and troubleshooting for equipment in the field and at our facility.

+ Assist in building, assembling, and validating new designs and improvements through rigorous machine testing.

+ Collaborate with engineers, R&D specialists, and customers to refine product performance and reliability.

+ Maintain accurate records of tests, service activities, and findings to support continuous improvement.

+ Occasionally travel to customer sites to provide hands-on support and training.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

+ Experience in R&D and industrial technology.

+ Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology or Engineering, or 3+ years of experience in an R&D or Field Service Engineer role.

+ 2+ years of experience with extrusion.

+ Bilingual in English and Spanish.

+ Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Work Environment

You will work a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. The role involves international travel once per quarter and domestic travel once per month. You will share an office with two other R&D technicians and spend a significant amount of time working in the lab. The position includes overtime opportunities. For travel, there is a bonus of $500 for domestic trips and $1000 for international trips.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Urbandale, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $45.00/hr.
