Job Title: EMC Technician - Associate Engineer
Job Description
Join a dynamic team providing EMC testing to global design teams. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge electronics for equipment, including fully electric machines, autonomous systems, controls, sensors, and displays. As a Support Technician within the Component Products Department, you will support lab projects by maintaining equipment, executing functional evaluations, and performing select test activities. Your work will include performance, electrical, environmental, and durability evaluations.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in setting up tests for clients.
+ Conduct testing procedures and troubleshoot failures during tests.
+ Provide regulatory and RF physics consulting to clients when possible.
+ Document test results and ensure accuracy.
+ Collaborate with Senior Technicians to plan tests and maintain test equipment.
+ Work with EMC Engineers to offer EMC consulting on design and regulations.
+ Assist clients in troubleshooting their products and ensure test methods cover possible field conditions.
+ Analyze field returns and perform basic functional evaluations.
+ Log metrics and ensure test equipment is well-maintained according to schedules.
Essential Skills
+ Troubleshooting of electrical or mechanical systems, such as repairing vehicles or building computers.
+ 2-year electronics degree or equivalent applicable experience.
+ Basic electronics knowledge, including concepts like capacitance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Soldering, crimping, and reading circuit diagrams.
+ Understanding of Radio Frequency physics.
+ Experience with ham radio or software-defined radio as a work or hobby.
+ General electronics experience.
+ Familiarity with electronic lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Amplifiers, Signal Generators, and Network Analyzers.
+ Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office applications.

This position is based at PPG. The role offers a great opportunity to work on EMC technology in a collaborative environment with a focus on growth and development. You will integrate with a team of technicians and engineering staff, contributing to the development and validation testing processes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.
