Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description
This position functions as a Medical Assistant within the department, responsible for the check-in and check-out of patients and scheduling.
Responsibilities
+ Check in and check out patients efficiently and accurately.
+ Schedule patient appointments in accordance with clinic policies.
+ Work collaboratively with physicians, patients, families, significant others, and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
+ Utilize electronic medical records proficiently to maintain patient data.
+ Assist in both front and back office tasks as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Certification as a CCMA or RMA through an approved organization such as the NHA.
+ Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
+ Minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
+ Proficiency in electronic medical records.
+ Interactive communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, and telephone skills.
+ Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
+ Fundamentals of medical terminology.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Epic systems.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Work Environment
The role operates within a primary care setting with 8 providers. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 5 pm or 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The position involves being cross-trained in both front and back office tasks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
