Assistant Controller – Manufacturing | On-Site Opportunity
**Employment Type:** Full-Time | On-Site
What You Will Do
As the **Assistant Controller** , you will play a vital role in supporting the Controller/Accounting Manager across all aspects of financial operations — with a strong focus on **accounts payable** , **financial reporting** , and **compliance** . You’ll be hands-on in improving accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will:
+ Oversee day-to-day **accounts payable** functions, including invoice processing, coding, and payment scheduling.
+ Verify vendor invoices for accuracy in quantities, pricing, and discounts, and ensure proper general ledger distribution.
+ Record wire payments and maintain organized, accurate records of invoices and disbursements.
+ Maintain **voucher reports** , **aging reports** , **disbursement journals** , and other AP documentation.
+ Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with **financial statement preparation** and **reporting packages** .
+ Support the **intercompany reconciliation process** and the **fixed asset lifecycle** from acquisition through disposal.
+ Respond to vendor inquiries and collaborate with **purchasing** , **shipping/receiving** , and other departments to resolve discrepancies.
+ Support the implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
+ Partner closely with the Controller on financial projects and reporting initiatives.
What You Need
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in **Accounting** , **Finance** , or a related field required.
Experience:
+ Minimum **3+ years of accounting experience** in a **manufacturing environment** .
+ Proven experience in **financial reporting** , **accounts payable** , and **account reconciliation** .
+ Familiarity with **SAP** is preferred.
+ Experience with **SAP BusinessObjects (SAPBO)** and **Sage 500** is a **plus** .
+ Exposure to **Sales/Use Tax** and **Percentage-of-Completion (POC)** accounting is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
+ High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
+ Self-motivated and proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement and process efficiency.
+ Willing to learn and grow!
+ Proficient in **Microsoft Excel** , **Word** , and **Project** .
