The SUE Technician is responsible for assisting the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew. The major objectives of this role include ensuring the quality of work in terms of accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The position also emphasizes public relations, safety, meeting schedules, staying within budgets, and providing responsive service to clients. The technician will operate equipment, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain equipment and vehicles, and accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features. Some overnight travel may be required.
Responsibilities
+ Assist the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew.
+ Ensure the quality of work, including accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity, while meeting regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain safety standards and meet project schedules within budget.
+ Provide responsive service to clients and ensure positive public relations.
+ Operate and maintain equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
+ Accurately collect field data and locate features.
+ Perform some basic survey operations in addition to SUE tasks.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in SUE field operations.
+ Proficiency with survey equipment such as total stations and GPS.
+ Experience with SUE locating equipment or hydrographic equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with electromagnetic, vacuum excavation, and ground-penetrating radar.
+ Experience in land surveying and construction engineering.
+ USIC experience is acceptable with a few years of experience at another organization or less than 2 years with USIC.
Work Environment
Work within a preferred geomatics SUE firm in the Southeast, known for great leadership and large contracts providing steady work. There is work share between offices, and the role may require some overnight travel.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
