Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Engineer with over 2 years of experience in water resource engineering to join our Fort Wayne office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in planning, designing, and implementing water resource projects addressing potable water and wastewater challenges. You will be part of a project team dedicated to solving complex environmental infrastructure problems for communities and industries, with a strong focus on learning and growth within a team-based culture.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with project managers, project engineers, CAD designers, and environmental scientists.
+ Prepare engineering reports, construction documents, cost estimates, and technical memos.
+ Perform simple design calculations under the supervision of a project engineer or project manager.
+ Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations related to water resources and stormwater.
+ Contact government officials for permits and prepare permit applications.
+ Conduct site visits, field investigations, and inspections as needed.
+ Coordinate with contractors.
+ Communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 2+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (a graduate degree is a plus).
+ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam certification with progress toward PE licensure.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools is a plus.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems.
+ Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic.
+ A clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
+ Attention to detail and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
Work Environment
The office environment is relaxed but can be deadline-intensive at times. There is a strong emphasis on a family feel and team environment. The dress code is business casual. Standard working hours are flexible, with options to start as early as 7 AM or as late as 9 AM, and there is an option for a compressed workweek. Engineers have a mix of office and fieldwork, allowing for diverse experiences and interactions with clients. Frequent performance evaluations and yearly pay increases are part of the growth opportunities offered.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
