Job Title: Transportation Engineer - Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to join our Transportation group in the metro Atlanta area. This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled individual to lead and deliver transportation engineering projects with a focus on roadway design and engineering. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the culture, business development, and mentorship within the team.
Responsibilities
+ Lead projects, ensuring they are on scope, on time, and under budget.
+ Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of growth and development.
+ Engage in business development activities, including meeting with clients, developing relationships, and attending networking events.
+ Display ownership and accountability for the successful delivery of projects.
+ Outline project tasks and delegate responsibilities accordingly.
+ Develop cost estimates, specifications, and bid documents for each project.
+ Prepare and manage budgets based on estimates.
+ Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project development.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations and best practices.
+ Plan and execute work assignments within allocated timeframes to meet project budgets and schedules.
+ Complete fieldwork, including erosion inspections, construction inspections, field plan reviews, site visits, and on-site meetings with clients and property owners as required.
+ Coordinate and communicate effectively with staff, clients, the public, and sub-consultants.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
+ 8+ years of experience in Transportation Roadway Design and Engineering.
+ 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license or extensive project delivery experience.
+ Proficiency in OpenRoads and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Strong understanding of GDOT policies and procedures.
+ Excellent communication and accountability skills.
+ Strong technical experience in designing roadways, highways, and stormwater systems.

Work Environment
This position offers a 100% remote work environment with flexible hours, requiring availability during normal business hours to support junior engineers and project progress. The company maintains a collaborative, team-focused culture with monthly and quarterly team events, professional development opportunities, and mentorship programs. They value diversity and inclusion, providing a supportive environment for growth and development. While local candidates to Georgia are preferred, the company encourages remote working arrangements. The team is small and dynamic, with a shared workspace available in Sandy Springs.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $63.00/hr.
