    Job Overview

     

    We are looking for talented, creative, and driven technicians to drive manufacturing output and yield. You will have ownership of one or more process areas and will have the opportunity to directly impact Nicor’s products. You will have frequent interaction with engineering teams and leadership and will participate in developing and validating new equipment, processes, and technologies. The success of Nicor depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, security, and user experience of the products that you will manufacture.

     

    A Day In The Life

    + Perform planned maintenance and unplanned repairs of production line equipment that includes Injection Molding Machines, Robots, Chiller systems, Welding equipment, mechanical drills, and Camera systems.

    + Perform planned maintenance and unplanned repairs of production line assets, which include printers, conveyor systems, thermolators, and vacuum systems

    + Read and utilize schematics (mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic) to troubleshoot systems down to the component level

    + Read and safely execute lockout tagout procedures

    + Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause, and make reliability improvement recommendations

    + Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges, and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair, or maintenance of equipment

    + Communicate with suppliers, specify requirements, get quotations, and submit purchase requisitions to purchase necessary items

    + Provide feedback and work with maintenance, engineering, and vendor teams to drive root cause of equipment downtime

    + Operate material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, scissor lifts and forklifts

    + Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

     

    What will help you thrive in this role?

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High school diploma or equivalency certificate

    + 2+ years of maintenance or troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Experience maintaining plastic injection molding machines. Knowledge of LS Mtron, Nissei, and Wilmington machinery is a plus.

    + 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or field service engineer

    + Methodical approach to troubleshooting with a high level of attention to detail

    + Excellent manual dexterity to repair and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment

    + Proficiently use a computer and MS Outlook and Word

    + Ability to use power tools and hand tools

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings

    + Ability to write detailed repair reports when necessary (skilled with use of Microsoft Office Suite)

    + Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies, and industry standards

    + Familiar with Lean or Six Sigma tools like Five Whys methodology
