    Job Description

    Join our dynamic team as a Machine Operator, where you will play a crucial role in the production of high-quality paper bags. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of bag making lines by loading machinery with spools of paper, prepping rolls, and setting up print plates. Your attention to detail will be vital as you measure hot melt, verify orders, and check for defects and errors.

    Responsibilities

    + Load machinery with spools of paper.

    + Prepare rolls and gather print plates.

    + Set up print plates and measure hot melt.

    + Gather materials and set up machines based on orders.

    + Verify orders and run the machine.

    + Unclog jams and perform minor troubleshooting.

    + Adjust machinery and set up/changeover the machine.

    + Check for defects and errors.

    + Package and wrap final orders.

    + Verify orders and pallets.

    Essential Skills

    + Manufacturing experience.

    + Machine operating or assistant experience.

    + Experience with setups or changeovers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience working with paper, corrugated, packaging, bags, or cartons.

    + Experience with FFG or die cutting lines is a plus.

    + Blueprint reading and loading experience.

    Work Environment

     

    You will work in a clean, well-organized facility that features multiple production lines. The environment is climate-controlled, being cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer. As a machine operator, you will be standing and walking constantly for 12-hour shifts, with responsibilities including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and engaging in repetitive motions. The rotating schedule provides flexibility and balance, with both day and night shifts available.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.21 - $20.21/hr.
