    Job Title: Process Technician

    Job Description

    A Process Technician performs a variety of functions associated with manufacturing operations. This role involves working closely with engineers and operators on set-up and calibration tasks, as well as conducting rework and quality testing for parts, components, subassemblies, and final products. The technician utilizes programs to collect and evaluate operating data to make in-line adjustments to parts, instruments, or equipment. They are also responsible for updating and possibly assisting in the development of methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor and document the operation of machines in a production environment.

    + Maintain the flow of production parts, report inconsistencies, and suggest improvements.

    + Troubleshoot complex or troublesome equipment, possibly working with facilities teams or outside vendors for repairs or modifications.

    + Run engineering tests as prescribed by engineers and perform periodic calibration checks.

    + Recommend process improvements based on test results and experience, and troubleshoot machine setups.

    + Visually inspect parts at required steps in the process, ensuring they are within specified tolerances.

    + Disposal of reject parts and train operators and inspectors to improve efficiency.

    + Maintain and order/track tools according to safety and vendor recommendations.

    + Use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, and other optical tools.

    + Participate in the 5S program.

    + Enter data accurately into Excel spreadsheets and create graphs.

    + Comply with applicable policies, ISO 9000, ISO requirements, and ITAR regulations.

    + Setup/program production or test machinery.

    + Read specifications and mechanical drawings.

    + Assign and check work of lower-level technicians and operators.

    + Perform duties of an operator or material handler as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience as a process technician in manufacturing, clean room, or semiconductor environments.

    + Proficiency in inspection and process operation.

    + Ability to set-up and troubleshoot automated process equipment.

    + Experience with microscope inspection and cleanroom protocols.

    + Basic knowledge of CNC and CMM operations.

    + Proficient in Excel for data entry and graph creation.

    + Ability to read specifications and mechanical drawings.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School diploma or GED required.

    + 1-2 years of prior manufacturing experience.

    The work environment is a microelectronic cleanroom manufacturing setting with approximately 30 employees. It is a controlled, deadline-driven, and quality-focused environment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
