Job Title: Building Engineer III
Job Description
The Building Engineer III is responsible for maintaining building systems, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and making necessary repairs. This includes working with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and life safety systems to ensure they meet all required safety codes.
Responsibilities
+ Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair building systems including plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems.
+ Ensure all work performed meets required safety codes.
+ Report modifications and repairs into the CMMS for review.
+ Operate HVAC systems and adjust building automation systems (BAS, EMS, or ATC).
+ Monitor and ensure quality control of subcontractors performing maintenance or repairs.
Essential Skills
+ Commercial building experience, particularly with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
+ Minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a technician.
+ CFC Universal certification.
+ Ability to read trade-related electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings and internal wiring schematics.
+ Proficient knowledge and troubleshooting capability of commercial building systems.
+ Basic PC skills and ability to learn company-specific software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Journeyman level experience.
+ Proficiency in automated work order systems preferred.
+ Ability to adapt to new or changing software programs.
+ Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
+ Good verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
+ Knowledge of energy management systems and building VAV systems.

This is a Permanent position based out of Herndon, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $77000.00/yr.
