    Title:District MaintenanceRequired Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Demonstrated ability to perform general facility maintenance tasks across multiple building systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements.

    + Working knowledge of building maintenance practices such as preventive maintenance, equipment servicing, and repair of common facility components.

    + Ability to read and interpret work orders, maintenance manuals, and basic blueprints or diagrams.

    + Ability to identify maintenance needs and prioritize work assignments effectively.

    + Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment, including safe operating practices.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

    + Dependable, punctual, and able to respond to maintenance emergencies as required.

    + Must be capable of performing physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces.

    + Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

    + Maintain all licenses and certifications required for assigned duties and comply with all safety and training requirements.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Previous experience in building or facility maintenance, construction, or mechanical trades.

    + Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.

    + Experience with troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, fans, control components, and building systems.

    + Understanding of preventive maintenance scheduling and building automation systems.

    + Experience with district- or campus-level facility operations.

    + Possession of technical or trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance).

     

    Reports to:Maintenance and Grounds SupervisorJob Goal:Ensure that district buildings, equipment, and systems are maintained in safe, functional, and efficient operating condition through skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive work to support student learning and staff productivity. This position requires practical knowledge across multiple building systems and a commitment to problem-solving, reliability, and customer service in support of district operations.Performance Responsibilities:

     

    + Perform general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of district buildings, equipment, and mechanical systems.

    + Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC units, pumps, motors, air handlers, and other mechanical systems.

    + Diagnose and repair issues with lighting, outlets, switches, door hardware, windows, and minor plumbing components (e.g., faucets, valves, drains).

    + Repair walls, ceilings, flooring, and building finishes using appropriate materials and techniques.

    + Complete small carpentry and fixture installation projects such as shelving, cabinetry, and signage.

    + Perform painting, caulking, and patching to maintain building appearance and protect building materials.

    + Assist with maintenance of boilers, compressors, and exhaust systems under supervision.

    + Safely operate lifts, ladders, and small equipment necessary to complete assigned work.

    + Support snow removal, storm response, and emergency repairs as needed.

    + Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time on task.

    + Assist with setup and relocation of furniture and equipment as assigned.

    + Follow all district safety procedures and use personal protective equipment appropriately.

    + Attend required training and staff meetings.

    + Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Physical Demands:

    + Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods.

    + Must be capable of lifting up to50 poundsand performing physically demanding tasks.

    + Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and noise.

    Terms of Employment:

    + Twelve-month employment.

    + Hours and work as assigned by the Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor or Director of Buildings and Grounds.

    + Salary determined by negotiated agreement.
