    Job Details

Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) – Diagnostic Imaging CenterDepartment: St. Francis Diagnostic Imaging

    Position Summary:

St. Francis Diagnostic Imaging Center, a high-volume, multi-modality outpatient facility within the Catholic Health system, is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) — Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) — to provide on-site clinical support for contrast-related reactions and urgent patient care needs.

With a 35% increase in imaging volume over the past three years and growing complexity in patient care, this role is critical to ensuring safe, timely, and efficient management of contrast-enhanced studies (including CT and echocardiograms) and improving overall patient flow.

The APP will serve as the primary clinical responder for any contrast-related events, enabling radiologists to maintain diagnostic focus and supporting a high standard of care within the imaging center.

    Key Responsibilities:

+ Act as the first-line clinical provider for all contrast-related reactions, including assessment, medication administration (e.g., epinephrine, antihistamines), IV access, and coordination of higher-level care or EMS transfer as needed.

+ Support clinical operations across six imaging modalities: CT, Echo, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray.

+ Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and nursing staff to maintain safe and efficient patient flow throughout the day.

+ Perform pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure monitoring for patients undergoing contrast studies.

+ Educate patients on procedure expectations, risks, post-care instructions, and address concerns related to contrast agents.

+ Accurately document all clinical interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring compliance with Catholic Health policies and standards.

+ Serve as a clinical liaison, helping to bridge communication between nursing staff, technologists, and radiologists.

+ Participate in workflow optimization and safety initiatives to improve throughput and reduce exam delays or cancellations.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

+ Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGACNP, etc.) or Physician Assistant.

+ National board certification (AANP/ANCC for NPs; NCCPA for PAs).

+ Active BLS and ACLS certification.

+ Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in acute care, emergency medicine, cardiology, or diagnostic imaging.

+ Proficiency in IV medication administration and emergency response.

    Preferred:

+ Experience with contrast agents, including CT and Definity-enhanced echocardiography.

+ Familiarity with managing contrast reactions and post-imaging follow-up care.

+ Prior work in an outpatient diagnostic or procedural setting.

    Salary Range

    USD $69.43 - USD $93.00 /Hr.
