**Work hours:** PRN, 6:00pm - 6:00am; Weekend availability required

Here's What You Need

* High School Diploma or equivalent required

* Successful completion of an acceptable polysomnography program of no less than one years duration associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technologist preferred

* One year in a Sleep Lab/Center preferably within a hospital setting preferred

* RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographic Technician upon hire required and

* BCLS - Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required Basic

What You Will Do

* Be responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing testing and/or treatment and the use of equipment to minimize any hazards.

* Review patient's medical history, allergies, current medications, patient questionnaire.

* Explain procedures to patient before, during and after sleep study, to include pre-testing, testing and post-testing procedures.

* Perform patient set-up: attaches electrodes and monitors to patient according to accepted standards.

* Follow procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen titration, etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate data. Monitor patient via video for any unusual sleep behaviors.

* Ensure signals are received on the computer and all monitors are recording data throughout the sleep study.

* Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free, making adjustments as necessary.
