    Job Title: Human Resources GeneralistJob Description

     

    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and the development and implementation of employment policies. The role involves managing personnel record keeping and matters related to workers' compensation and disability. The HR Generalist will work on the application of employment, benefits, and workers' compensation laws and regulations, as well as employment policies in the contexts of hiring, discipline, employment termination, training, compensation, benefits, leave, and equal opportunity. The HR Generalist reports to the Director of Operations and may perform other functions as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze, interpret, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures.

    + Annually review and recommend amendments to the Employee Handbook to ensure accuracy.

    + Evaluate employee benefit offerings annually for competitive benefit packages.

    + Maintain complete and compliant employee personnel files, including updated position descriptions.

    + Liaise with counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (EEO/AA/FMLA/ADA/etc).

    + Provide periodic trainings for supervisors and staff on developments in applicable HR regulations.

    + Design, implement, monitor, and maintain the employee evaluation program.

    + Design and implement an orientation program for all new employees.

    + Support and recommend hiring selections based on values and principles of vision and mission.

    + Promote diversity through recruiting, selecting, developing, training, managing, and maintaining a staff that represents the population served.

    + Routinely communicate important HR information to all staff.

    + Oversee the maintenance and overall condition of owned real estate.

    + Collaborate with landlords of rented properties to ensure workplaces are clean, safe, and well maintained.

    + Monitor lease terms and negotiate lease extensions or renewals.

    + Assist with property needs in connection with possible expansion plans.

    + Manage relevant budget lines and oversee external contractors servicing buildings and grounds.

    + Manage all projects related to the physical building and coordinate to assure building infrastructure meets organizational needs.

    Essential Skills

    + Human resources experience, particularly in onboarding and employee relations.

    + Ability to maintain facilities as noted in the job description.

    + Proficiency in data entry, HR administration, and human resource management.

    + Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.

    + Capability to assign and supervise the work of others.

    + Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior.

    + Ability to study and apply new information and take initiative.

    + Excellent time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.

    + Work accurately with close attention to detail.

    + Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

    + Exhibit a professional, businesslike demeanor.

    + Basic computer skills, including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills for workforce interaction.

    + Ability to perform computer-related tasks for up to 8 hours per day.

    Work Environment

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Turners Falls, MA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.25 - $34.25/hr.

     

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
