    Job Title: Personal Injury ParalegalJob Description

    A personal injury paralegal assists attorneys in handling personal injury cases, which involve claims for injuries or accidents caused by another party. This role is essential in managing the complexities of personal injury law and ensuring clients receive the justice they deserve.

    Responsibilities

    + Gather evidence and documentation such as medical records, accident reports, and witness statements.

    + Draft and proofread pleadings, motions, and other court-required paperwork.

    + Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all important information is accurately recorded and easily accessible.

    + Ensure clients are receiving appropriate treatment and manage correspondence with medical professionals.

    + Maintain relationships with clients, keeping them updated on case progress and addressing their concerns.

    + Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, mediations, and depositions.

    + Assess past and future medical expenses, loss of earnings, and pain and suffering.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in drafting motions, ensuring they adhere to legal standards and guidelines.

    + Proficiency in e-filing legal documents electronically to the court system.

    + Strong legal administrative skills, including filing and managing legal documents.

    + Paralegal skills with an emphasis on legal support and administration.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 3+ years of paralegal experience.

    + Minimum of an Associate's Degree required.

    Work Environment

    The role is within a small legal team of about 5 people, fostering a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The dress code is business professional, reflecting the serious nature of legal proceedings. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the flexibility to come in early or stay late as needed to meet case demands.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nanuet, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
