Description
The most essential skills for the Principal Buyer role at Align Aerospace are advanced LTA negotiation and cost analysis, supplier performance management and recovery, data-driven decision making using SAP and Power BI, supplier risk and escalation management, and mentorship with process improvement. These skills are applied through leading complex negotiations, analyzing supplier data to drive cost and performance improvements, proactively managing supplier risks, and mentoring team members to enhance procurement processes. Key attributes of success include strong analytical and negotiation abilities, problem-solving, effective communication, leadership, and a strategic mindset. Typically, 5–7+ years of relevant procurement experience in aerospace or manufacturing is required for mastery of these core competencies. Additional Skills & Qualifications How Optional Skills Will Be Applied: Project Management: Oversee cross-functional sourcing projects, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables are met. Contract Administration: Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, supply chain risks, and emerging technologies to inform sourcing strategies. Supplier Development: Support initiatives to improve supplier capabilities, quality, and reliability. Required Education, Certifications, or Years of Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Certifications: APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable. Experience: 5+ years in procurement or supply chain management, with aerospace or manufacturing experience preferred. Key Attributes of Success: Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication. High ethical standards and integrity. Adaptability to changing priorities and environments. Desired/Nice to Have Skills: Experience with FAR/DFARS, ITAR, or other regulatory frameworks. Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, data modeling). Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies. Multilingual abilities for global supplier engagement. Experience with e-sourcing or procurement automation tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
