Job Title: Intern, Plant Engineer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $23.40 hourly

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

General Summary:

In this role, you will join the technical department in providing technical support in the processing and packaging operations within our manufacturing facility. The role will entail capital project execution, continuous improvement, and support of daily operations. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:.

+ Safety

+ Promote a safety culture and awareness within the area of responsibility.

Daily Operations Support:

+ Provide technical support to the production team.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.

+ Assist in the maintenance and calibration of equipment.

+ Participate in daily operational meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.

+ Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Digital Factory:

+ Support the integration of digital technologies into the manufacturing process.

+ Work on data collection and analysis to optimize production operations.

+ Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).

+ Contribute to the development of predictive maintenance and real-time monitoring systems.

Capital Project Execution:

+ Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of capital projects.

+ Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.

+ Conduct research and analysis to support project decision-making.

Continuous Improvement:

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

+ Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

+ Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement projects.

+ Implement changes and monitor their impact on production processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ + Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media forms – verbal, written, etc.

+ Organizational and time management skills.

+ Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment.

+ Knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc.

+ Ability to always maintain absolute confidentiality and in all situations.

Education:

+ + Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field

+ Familiar with using RCA, fishbone, 5-why, quick kaizen, and FMEA methodologies.

+ Computer skills, including in MS Office, MS Power BI

+ Strong desire to learn and grow in all areas, as well as the willingness to share knowledge with others.
