    PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    This is a highly responsible position requiring supervisory, administrative, and management expertise to guide the delivery of services for families and adults in adult direct services programs within a four-county area in accordance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and regional procedures.

     

    Administrative supervision and coordination of all direct service operations related to the assigned service or program area, including the direct supervision and appraisal of the performance of line supervisors for protective investigations and frontline staff for protective services and intervention programs, and reviewing the performance of direct service staff. Appropriate delegation of authority to line supervisors and the review/approval of personnel actions and assignments made by them.

     

    Management of the program and administrative functions of assigned departmental services units including the assessment of service utilization effectiveness, development and monitoring of corrective action plans, and directing intra-program coordination to ensure timely and effective service delivery. Assisting in case management decisions, when necessary, through coordination with program office staff, attendance at programmatic meetings, and individual case staffings. Participation in management and operations meetings to present service area issues and input into administrative decisions regarding overall operational needs. Efficient and equitable distribution and control of allocated service area staff, facilities, supplies, and equipment. Participates in fiscal meetings or allocation and reviewing status of available resources and expenditures.

     

    Community and service delivery coordination through identification of gaps in service provision and collaborating in the development of resources to meet identified needs. Development of working agreements/relationships and effective service coordination among departmental program units, other human service agencies, and the general community regarding departmental programs. Investigation and response to services provided and taking necessary corrective action when indicated.

     

    Direct provision or arrangement for the provision of staff development, training, and programmatic or administrative technical assistance to staff to ensure the opportunity of meeting their fullest performance potential.

     

    Participation in regional workgroups and trainings available for providing an opportunity to increase professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.

     

    This position will serve as the official Single Point of Contact, which is designated to coordinate the provision of auxiliary aids and services to the deaf and hard of hearing. The position will be responsible for the following:

     

    + Collect data on the effectiveness and appropriateness of the auxiliary aid or service provided and the performance of the interpreter provided on the Customer Feedback Form.

    + Keep records of the appropriate auxiliary aids and services on the Auxiliary Aide/Services Record as each service is provided.

    + Complete Self-Assessment Tool to evaluate DCF’s operational performance in providing appropriate auxiliary aids and services to deaf or hard of hearing persons and to identify methods to improve the provision of such auxiliary aids and services.

    + Assist designated DCF personnel with any concerns, grievances or complaints raised by deaf or hard of hearing customers or companions regarding effective communication as soon as reasonably possible, with a goal of resolving all matters raised while the customer and/or companion is in a DCF Direct Service Facility.

    + Communicate with ADA/Section 504 Coordinators concerning services to deaf or hard of hearing customers or companions and summaries of these meetings shall be provided to the Independent Consultant; manage service records and report the data and any resource and/or training needs to the designated ADA/Section 504 Coordinator (Civil Rights Officer).

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES INCLUDE:

    Knowledge of Adult Protective Services.

     

    Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.

     

    Knowledge of administrative principles and practices

     

    Knowledge of office procedures and practices

     

    Computer skills to include the use of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, FSFN, People First, ARTT, and Mobile Inventory.

     

    Ability to develop program manuals, policies, procedures, standards, and rules.

     

    Ability to analyze the effectiveness of service programs and identify resources or adjustments required to meet needs.

     

    Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

     

    Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

     

    Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports

     

    Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures

     

    Ability to utilize problem solving techniques

     

    Ability to work independently

     

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

     

    Ability to conduct meetings and trainings.

     

    Ability to evaluate service delivery.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

    • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of experience.

    • A minimum of three years continuous supervisory/management experience

    • A minimum of five years Adult Protective Services experience.

    • Must have a current/valid Florida Driver’s license

    • Must be willing to travel between Circuit 7 service centers on a regular basis and throughout the region as necessary

    • No disciplinary action within the past 24 months.
