As aCounseloryou will be responsible for assessing and teaching vocational skills while coaching and motivate individuals to achieve their goals. You will play an essential role as aCounselorin facilitating groups to assist individuals in career exploration, college planning, locating employment and integrating career objectives with their current mental health and substance recovery programs. TheCounseloris the liaison between the individual and coordinated services such as assisted volunteer opportunities, visiting employer sites and touring community skills training and education programs.

    Counselor Requirements:AnEast House Counseloris required to have a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in a human services related field with a minimum of two years’ paid experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record and availability of a personal use vehicle for work.

    Requirements

    Education

    + Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

    + Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work or other related degree preferred.

    + Equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered.

    Experience

    Minimum of 1-3 years residential support or case management experience

     

    Licensure & Certification

     

    + Narcan training preferred.

    + Provisional Qualified Health Professional (QHP) Status or CASAC-T required for OASAS licensed programs.
