Lab Technician - Smoky Canyon (Afton, WY)

Summary

Prepare and analyze phosphate ore samples from the mill, stock pile, and drill core, in addition to particle size and moisture content analysis. Reports to lab supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

+ Transport and organize samples prior to preparation

+ Break-up dry ore samples

+ Process ore samples through the splitter

+ Weigh samples for density and moisture content

+ Combine and mix wet ore samples

+ Dry and pulverize samples for assay

+ Process ore samples via different screens for particle size percentages

+ Operate and maintain lab equipment

+ The employee shall perform his/her work duties in compliance with all Facility, Company, and Regulatory (State or Federal) Environmental, Health, Safety and/or Security policies, rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: maintaining a safe and secure work environment, protecting company sensitive information, and reporting suspicious or unauthorized activities and/or behaviors.

Typical Education

+ High School diploma or equivalent

Requirements

+ Valid drivers license or equivalent

+ Ability to comprehend and follow instructions verbally and written

+ Able to work in a team environment

+ Prior lab experience

Physical/Environmental

+ Lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds occasionally

+ May be required to, but not limited to; sit ,stand, kneel, crouch, climb, bend, and reach for unspecified time periods during a shift

+ Stand for extended periods of time

+ May be required to work weekends and rotating schedule

+ Work exposures may include, but not limited to, the following conditions: wind, rain, snow, extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, dust, chemical and electrical hazards

+ Proper PPE (personal protective equipment) will be worn at all times
