    We have an outstanding Contract position for aShipping/Receiving Clerk to join a leading Company located in theSan Diego, CA surrounding area.

     

    Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00

     

    The Senior Shipping Clerk position is a hands-on position. The Senior Shipping Clerk will complete documentation required for domestic and international shipments and coordinate transportation of shipments. The successful candidate must have experience with international shipping requirements.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Generate and manage all shipping documents e.g. shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading etc. , within the ERP system and 3rd party software.

    + Correctly prepare products, spare parts, return parts, and other items for shipment following established procedures for packaging, crating, boxing, bundling, wrapping, strapping, and labeling.

    + Prepare international and domestic shipping documents and schedule freight pick-ups.

    + Utilize the UPS and FedEx systems to properly ship outbound shipments .

    + Coordinate export compliance issues and domestic shipping issues with shippers, as required, including shipment tracking and lost freight issues.

    + Correctly and safely operate and maintain machines to properly pack and minimize damage to units/products in shipment.

    + Retrieves products/units from Finished Goods according to the pack slip.

    + Stay current on international export requirements such as new commodity codes and customs regulations to ensure compliance to legal regulations.

    + Maintains and orders appropriate shipping supplies necessary to maintain shipping readiness.

    + Conduct an inventory of Finished Goods monthly.

    + Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.

    + Must be able to work overtime as required.

    Basic Hiring Criteria:

    + A High School diploma or equivalent is required.

    + 5 years of shipping experience.

    + 1 year of international shipping experience.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Experience with letter of credit, denied entity checks, generating international documentation, e.g. commercial invoice, shipper letter of instruction, etc.

    + Ability to operate warehouse machinery, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and lift devices.

    + Good computer skills, Microsoft, and basic Excel skills, as well as good math skills.

    + Must be able to work overtime as required.

    + Ability to work with minimum supervision.

    + Strong team player.

    + Good communication skills (written and verbal).

    + Excellent organization and administrative skills.
