This role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
The Electronic Systems (ES) Sector s International Business Development function is seeking a Business Development Director for the Japanese market. This position will be based out of Nashua New Hampshire or Washington DC and will support international captures in Japan across all ES Business Areas. This position will be responsible to develop and maintain relationships with Japanese end-users and industry, spearhead new business opportunities, and drive business-expansion opportunities across the ES Sector in Japan.
Specific Activities Include:
Foster long term customer relationships with government end-users and industry
Translate customer understanding (Voice of Customer) into actionable requirements and business strategies
Customer mapping and stakeholder analysis
Geopolitical, Market, and Competitive Intelligence & analysis development
Shape Business Area international pipelines and provide through-campaign support to Capture Teams
Support marketing and communication plans
Develop and maintain detailed country-strategy for Japan
Coordination of international strategies and activities in Japan among internal BAE stakeholders
Participate in Black Hats and color-teams to assess competitive position, refine win strategies and readiness to pursue/win/bid/execute
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree and at least 10 years of experience working in international Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Customer Relationships
+ Prior knowledge of and experience with Foreign Military Sales and Direct Commercial Sales programs
+ Exceptional written and oral communication skills with experience presenting at executive level
+ Knowledge of International contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
+ Experience managing international business-to-business relationships
+ Proven track record of effective and efficient stakeholder management
+ Current DoD Clearance (Secret)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Japanese cultural and language familiarity
+ Knowledge of export control and technology transfer policies
+ Willing to relocate to Japan in future years
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
