Post-Doctoral Positions in Robotics, Controls, AI, Computer Vision, and Hardware Security
The Control/Robotics Research Laboratory at NYU Tandon Electrical & Computer Engineering department invites qualified applicants with a doctorate degree in the areas of electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering, or related fields to apply. A strong publication record is encouraged and previous experience in areas such as neural network vulnerabilities and defenses, anomaly detection, adversarial machine learning, computer vision, swarms, autonomous robots, hardware security, and embedded systems development is desired.

Expectations: The successful applicant will work on various projects related to robotics and computer vision, controls, cyber-physical systems and their security, hardware security, and machine learning and their security. The expected work includes:
+ algorithm design
+ prototype implementation (e.g., in Matlab/Python)
+ deployment (to the agents & onboard computational hardware using the Robot Operating System), and
+ experimental testing (on unmanned vehicle swarms).
A solid competency with the standard implementation tools used in autonomous robots and embedded systems (e.g., C, C++, Linux, MATLAB, Python, Robot Operating System, Gazebo Physics Engine Simulator) is required.
Salary: In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $80,000.
The position is open to PhDs with backgrounds in robotics, controls, AI, and/or computer vision and hardware security. The candidate is expected to work in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary environment with other post-doctoral associates, PhD and undergraduate students, as well as faculty members. It is expected that applicants have a strong publication record in the aforementioned areas. The applicants are also expected to have strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
