    About the Role:

    Join TAI as our Division Manager – Systems Integration, Automation & Controls and take the technical helm of projects spanning the full lifecycle of process control systems for the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry. In this critical leadership role based in Owings Mills, MD, you will be responsible for technical direction, quality control, and overall execution of turn-key PLC/HMI/DCS integrated systems—from initial design and component specification through programming, commissioning, and startup.     Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:

    + The Systems Integration, Automation & Controls Engineering – Life Sciences Division Manager is responsible for the technical direction of all their design staff, including planning, organizing, and managing all technical assignments.

    + This position is responsible for technical supervision and quality control.

    + In addition, the Division Manager is responsible for the technical aspects of each Control Systems Integration Systems Integration, Automation & Controls Engineering – Life Sciences project, including overall project execution, management, and quality of project deliverables.

    + This position is also responsible for providing leadership, direction and mature judgment in guiding employees, programs, and activities.

    + The Division Manager plays a key role in the development of business opportunities and development of technical expertise of the design staff.

    + The Division Manager is a supervisory position to all their design staff within the Systems Integration, Automation & Controls Engineering – Life Sciences group.

    _Division Management:_

    + Provide strong leadership, deep practical Control Systems Integration – Life Sciences engineering knowledge

    + Bring knowledge and creativity to the position as well as have the discipline to drive results and follow established fundamental processes.

    + Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to support the growth and development of the division’s staff members.

    + Provide high-level client support and maintenance to ensure existing and new clients that the quality of the services delivered are closely examined; and work with executive management, directors, team leaders/ engineering managers to develop and ensure standards are maintained, specifically in the areas of quality assurance and training.

    + Support the company’s revenue targets by leading or supporting existing projects as assigned and support company sales initiatives.

    + Quality Control of Control Systems Integration – Life Sciences design work.

    + Take all necessary steps to foster a positive attitude among their staff and ensure employees meet individual performance goals.

    + Relate to employees and clients in a mature and professional manner.

    _Project management:_

    + Work closely with TAI’s Project Managers to ensure projects are staffed with personnel having appropriate qualifications to perform assigned tasks.

    + Responsible for compliance with Control Systems Integration – Life Sciences project scope, budget and schedule. Monitor and report status to TAI’s Project Managers on an ongoing basis.

    _Engineering and Design:_

    + Responsible for planning, organizing, and performing detailed Control Systems Integration – Life Sciences design with capability to manage engineering activities.

    + Research applicable industry standards, prepare and critique engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.

    + Develop and review engineering specifications and project cost estimates.

    + Direct, manage, and review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.

    + Direct contributing engineers and CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.

    + Possess ability to interpret applicable codes. Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.

    + Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.

    + Provide guidance and quality control of the division’s control system engineers in the development of plant control system network designs and in the implementation of control system upgrades.

    + Provide guidance and quality control to the division’s systems integration programmers in the implementation of control system retrofits and upgrades.

    You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

    + Professional Engineering Licensure, state of MD preferred.

    + Minimum of fifteen (15) years of Control Systems Integration design experience, primarily within the pharma/life sciences industry.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of managing, supervising, or leading employees and engineering activities

    + Ability to interact with customers to gather critical information.

    + Ability to promote a team environment

    + Good verbal and written communication skills, good customer relation skills, a positive work attitude, and willingness to learn new skills.

    + Self-motivated manage multiple project teams and work to improve the division.

    _Specific Control Systems Integration – Life Sciences Concentration:_

    + Extensive experience designing, reviewing and approving Control Systems Integration – Life Sciences Construction Drawing sets including but not limited to PLC Panel Drawing sets, Network Architecture Diagrams, Loop Drawings, Electrical Construction Drawings such as Plans, Block Diagrams, and Interconnection Details.

    + Expertise in specifying and designing Instrumentation and Controls equipment and components for the Life Sciences industry

    + Knowledge of and ability to specify equipment and systems for Control System Network design, PLC Panel assemblies, HMI/SCADA workstations, Instrumentation & Controls components.

    + Knowledge of [Discipline/Function building/industry codes]

    _Candidates should have experience with the following software:_

    + Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

    + PLC/DCS/HMI Programming experience [Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Schneider Electric, etc.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    + Pay: $140,000-180,000 annually (based upon experience)

    + Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
