    Faculty Search – Assistant Professor of Organizations

     

    The Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking candidates for a position as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Organizations.

     

    A PhD with rigorous academic training in organizational behavior, management, strategy, sociology, psychology, or related fields is required by the time of appointment (Fall 2025). New graduates through advanced assistant professors are encouraged to apply.

     

    The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to the school’s research, practice, and educational missions. Strong candidates will develop a program of research yielding actionable insights on important problems for organizations and resulting in publications in high-impact academic journals and/or conference proceedings. Scholars who work across disciplines and levels of analysis and are conversant with multiple methodologies will be of particular interest.

     

    Successful candidates will also be committed to excellence in the education of undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral students. As a close-knit community of scholars, we prioritize in our hiring process the selection of candidates who will be active contributors to supporting that culture within the school and university.

    Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University is home to the University's School of Information Systems and Management and its School of Public Policy and Management. This co-location uniquely enables interdisciplinary and sector-neutral work at the intersection of people, policy, and technology. The college has highly-ranked undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and executive education programs.

     

    The College is a center of excellence for research on issues that span people, policy, and technology, and has deep strengths in combining data science with decision science and social science. Faculty represent a range of disciplines including but not limited to organizational behavior, economics, information systems, machine learning, operations research, and statistics.
