Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Klingerstown, Pennyslvania known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade.
Responsibilities
Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety
policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.
• Must have the ability to pack product at any one of 5 lines or at the ovens in the Cooked Department.
• The utility person must do weight/quality checks, metal detector checks and corresponding computer and/or
paperwork and enter data in the RedZone Compliance Module.
• Must have the ability to perform morning start up line checks & perform shut-down procedures.
• Must be proficient at all machine set up and troubleshooting in the packaging area including tape machines and
box maker.
• Must assist in break and lunch coverage as needed.
• Must have the ability to determine if product meets proper specifications or not and inform supervisor or take
corrective action as needed.
• Must have the ability to coach line workers on acceptable versus unacceptable product, helping to ensure that
all product that is packable is put into finished cases, helping to reduce shrink.
• Must have the ability to perform daily and weekly Autonomous Maintenance line walks, recording motor
temperatures and vibrations, basic troubleshooting is required. All findings are recorded in the iPad.
• Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and
ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report to management
any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with
customers, clients, co-workers and management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have good verbal and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Must be a self-motivated individual who can work with a minimal amount of supervision
• Must have good knowledge of the Cooked Department with up to 6 months experience in that department or
the equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties.
• Must have the ability to safely lift up to 30lbs.
• Must have the ability to work indoors in a damp changing environment for duration of the shift
• Ability to travel stairs.
• Ability to learn and understand cross contamination issues and how to avoid them.
• Must wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job
• Must know customer specifications.
• Must have the ability to retain knowledge for future use.
• Ability to operate specific equipment or tools
• Skill in working with computers and iPads and experience with spreadsheet and word-processing software.
The pay range for this position is $19.50 to $25.00 per hour.
