We are seeking a highly motivated **Postdoctoral Researcher** to join the Environmental Exposure Assessment team in developing innovative tools for aquatic risk assessment in Brazil. This role will support regulatory safety evaluations by integrating and validating advanced modelling tools for environmental exposure assessment, with a focus on supporting regulatory frameworks and stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Do:
+ **Design and implement a software tool** integrating the USEPA PWC model and the VFSMOD model, with a user-friendly visual interface, to support aquatic risk assessment for Brazilian regulatory authorities (IBAMA).
+ **Validate and test the integrated tool** against stand-alone versions and field data, ensuring scientific rigor and reliability.
+ **Collaborate cross-functionally** with academic partners (e.g., Professor Muñoz-Carpena, Prof. Romulo Penna Scorza Junior at EMBRAPA), regulatory affairs, and other stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and successful adoption.
+ **Develop documentation and training materials** for the tool, including recommendations for parameterization under Brazilian conditions, and deliver training to IBAMA and other registrants.
+ **Advocate for tool acceptance** through presentations at conferences (SETAC-Latin America, ACS, SETAC-NA, European Modeling Conference) and workshops.
+ **Communicate scientific findings** and project outcomes in both written and oral formats, including publishing and presenting at professional meetings.
+ **Work independently and collaboratively** within a technical team, contributing to the advancement of regulatory science and environmental safety.
What You Need:
+ Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Agronomy, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Experience with environmental exposure assessment, modelling, and software development.
+ Familiarity with aquatic risk assessment frameworks and mitigation measures (e.g., vegetated filter strips, runoff models).
+ Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
+ Excellent communication and scientific writing skills.

+ Experience with model integration, validation, and stakeholder engagement.
+ Working experience with runoff models like VFSMOD

The salary range for this position is $81,000.00 to $100,000.00.
This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
