We are seeking a detail-oriented and technologically adept **Seed Production Technician** with specialized skills in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to join our innovative team. The **Seed Production Technician - UAS & Drone Phenotyping** supports seed production and agronomic research operations through advanced drone-based data collection and digital phenotyping. This role combines hands-on field work with data acquisition, processing, and analysis to ensure high-quality information that supports decisions in seed production.

What You'll Do:
+ Lead phenotypic activities using UAS (drones) to support timely seed production.
+ Plan, schedule and execute UAS flights for aerial imagery and data collection over seed production fields following company SOP’s, safety protocols, and FAA Part 107 regulations.
+ Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks, routine maintenance, equipment calibration, and troubleshooting of UAS hardware and software.
+ Maintain UAS hardware, batteries, sensors and accessories and maintain accurate logs of all flight operations, maintenance, and battery usage.
+ Collaborate with agronomy and breeding teams to ensure data alignment with experimental designs and field layouts.
+ Ensure data integrity, safety, and compliance with company standards.
+ Provide technical support on drone technologies.
+ Assists in planting, detasseling, pollination, harvest, data collection and seed processing activities as needed.
+ Supervise data collection teams, scheduling and ensuring data quality.
+ Assess and improve safety practices to meet safety goals and environmental standards.

What Skills You Ned:
+ Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, agriculture, agricultural engineering, crop science, computer/data science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

+ 1–3 years of related agricultural education, field research, or remote sensing experience
+ Experience and familiarity operating Unnamed Aircraft Vehicles (drones) preferred
+ Proficiency with operating and maintaining UAS (drones).
+ Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
+ Proficient with computers and data management software.
+ Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
+ Strong computer skills: Must be proficient using Microsoft Office programs, Power Apps, GIS software, image processing, data analytics, and other local software. Skills in using technology and managing electronic devices and computer equipment are required.
+ Understanding of crop growth stages, phenotyping concepts, and agronomic practices.
+ Attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork in fast-paced environments.
+ Works effectively with cross-functional teams in agronomy, breeding, and data science.
+ Ensures accuracy, traceability, and ethical handling of data.
+ Valid US driver’s license, category 4 preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
+ Pride in accuracy, value for timeliness, and adaptability to change.
+ Strong self-motivation with the ability to initiate projects, make decisions, and effectively solve problems.
+ Fully Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate fluently in both languages.
