POSITION: Director of Police Training & Education and PPOE Coordinator (PCN 01162832)
STARTING DATE: Approximately January 7, 2026
SALARY RANGE: $63,788 to $92,373 annually
APPOINTMENT: Full-Time, Unlimited

RESPONSIBILITIES: This leadership role oversees the strategic and operational functions of the Police Training & Education Division, with a primary focus on the Professional Peace Officer Education (PPOE) program. The position is responsible for supervising summer skills faculty, directing curriculum development, and implementing transformative educational practices that promote cultural competency and community engagement. Work in conjunction with the Dean to address faculty and student conduct issues and inquiries that may lead to issuing discipline and assisting with grievances resolution. It serves as a key liaison with the MN POST Board and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and maintain program accreditation, while also fostering partnerships with law enforcement agencies, community stakeholders, and educational institutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Minimum Qualifications** _(expected to have to enter job)_
+ Five years of full-time licensed peace officer experience. A Bachelor’s degree with a major in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field can substitute for one year of experience; An Associate’s degree can substitute for six months experience.
+ POST eligible and currently or previously licensed.
+ Direct experience working with Minnesota POST Board in an official capacity and ability to become immediately engaged with POST Board.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience.
+ Demonstrated experience working with people of varied lived experiences.
+ Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
**Preferred Qualifications** _(desired but not expected to have to enter job)_
+ Ten years of full-time licensed peace officer experience.
+ Previous teaching or training experience in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field.
+ Two years of supervisory experience.
+ Prior experience as a PPOE coordinator.
+ Five years of primary patrol related responsibilities within the past ten years.
