    Job Description

    THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $72,298.00

     

    The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.

     

    The Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) ensures that high quality services are provided to children in foster care by supporting provider agency staff with technical assistance and other services for children in foster care. FPS staff offer guidance to provider agencies on child welfare policies and procedures to improve service delivery and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children in foster care. The Division includes the Office of Centralized Services, the Office of Youth Success Services, and the Office of Provider Agency Collaboration and Engagement.

     

    The Office of Youth Success Services (OYSS) works cross-divisionally with ACS' juvenile justice, prevention and child protection teams to achieve positive safety, well-being and permanency outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system through the provision of education, workforce readiness, job placement and housing supports. This office includes the ACS Office of Employment and Workforce Development Initiatives, Office of Education and Employment Initiatives, and the Office of Housing Initiatives, Office of College Success Initiatives.

    The Program Coordinator position will be responsible for the following duties:

    - Engage with our community of college access and success programs that aim to advance education outcomes for youth in foster care.

     

    - Serve as program and operational lead to ensure that the College Choice stipend benefit is disbursed to ACS contracted providers in a timely manner. Additionally, that contracted providers are disbursing the stipend to students enrolled in college.

     

    - Ensure community partners are appropriately implementing day-to-day objectives such as, ensuring stakeholders and ACS contracted providers are appropriately referring youth to the College Choice Program.

     

    - Serving as program liaison by providing technical assistance to agencies and youth in accessing College Choice Program benefits.

     

    - Assist the Executive Director with responding to internal and external community-wide inquiries.

     

    - Conduct community site visits as applicable, and regularly monitoring and evaluating partner/ provider performance against performance benchmarks.

     

    - Make recommendations, draft reports, and share findings with the Executive Director and OYSS leadership. Additionally, develop performance improvement plans and provide technical assistance to providers as needed

     

    - Support the Executive Director with developing agendas, coordinating community speakers for presentations and training, and otherwise, support with planning and managing provider meetings and other events (training, college fairs, etc.)

     

    - Attend program recruitment events to interface with community partners and in some cases youth who may be eligible for the unit’s college/post-secondary programs

    Qualifications

    1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

    2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

    3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
