SUMMARY
The Data Center Systems and Design Program Manager (DC-SDPM) is a professional who specializes in designing and implementing security systems and measures for our client’s global datacenter and managing the program. To accomplish this, they engage in the day-to-day project efforts, is responsible for the key project teams and dependency partners to deliver the security solution.
The DC-SDPM must be capable of working on their own initiative to provide risk-based services for the deployment of datacenter security solutions and connected devices for our client. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and trust.

ESSENTIAL** **FUNCTIONS
Project Intake:
+ Defineprojectscope,objectives,deliverables,andschedule.
+ Developadetailedprojectplan,includingtimelines,milestones,andresourcerequirements.
+ Identifyrisksandestablishriskmanagementstrategiestomitigatepotentialissues.
+ Evaluatelocalpartnercapabilities.
+ Providecostestimatesfornewprojectplanning(ProjectExpenditureRequestInput).
+ Providerisk-basedconsultingservicesforallprojects.
+ Usingall availableresources,undertakesecurityriskassessmenttoidentifyvulnerabilityandthreatpriorto deciding on appropriate mitigation.
+ Tenderall securityrequirementpackages andprovideevaluatedresults backtostakeholders with recommendations, ensuring best value for the customer always.
Program Leadership & Strategy
+ Lead thesecuritysystemsanddesignprogram,definingstrategy, governance,anddeliveryframeworks.
+ Developamulti-yearroadmapforsecuritytechnology deployment andlifecyclemanagement.
+ Translateorganizationalsecuritygoalsintoactionabledesign andimplementation plans.
+ Collaboratewithinternalpartners(DataCenterEngineering,Construction,IT,Operations,andCompliance) to align security initiatives with business priorities.
+ Providevisibilityintoprogramprogress,risks,andoutcomesthroughexecutivereportingandperformance metrics.
Project participation:
+ TheDC-SDPMshouldbe partofalltheprojectcallsand havea dedicated securitytouchbasecall weekly.
+ TheDC-SDPMshouldhaveanactivetrackerintheirSmartsheetprojectorprojectSharePointonopen security or dependency trade issues/deliverables.
+ Whennotavailable,theconsultantshouldensurethesecurityintegratorcanattendforsecurity representation.
+ Ensureallmeetingminutes/actionitemsareissuedwithinonebusinessdayfollowingmeetingclosure.
+ EnsurecompliancewithGlobalSecurityDesignRequirements(GSDR),GeneralDataProtectionRegulation Laws, Client’s standards, processes, cost, and quality is maintained throughout.
+ Buildingandmaintainingstrongrelationshipswithclients,ensuringtheirsatisfactionandtrust.
+ As the DC-SDPM for physical security ensure you maintain currency (working practices, risk, threat, regulatory,standards,technology)toensureyoucandelivertheessentialskillsrequiredbyyourrole.
+ Retain full accountability of all assigned projects from inception to completion, providing appropriate handover,necessarysupportandguidancetotheprojectmanagerandotherteammemberswhenrequired. This will include assessment of all changes/variations from the original requirements to ensure they are in accordance with the client's requirements and represent the best value.
+ Supportwith auditsas instructed.
Communication:
+ Establishcommunication channels(Teams, Emails,Meetings)toensureeffective informationflowamong project stakeholders.
+ Maintainaccurate,uptodatetrackers/reportingtoolsandprovideDaily,Weekly,Monthlyreportingmetrics demonstrating your activity, value, and impact.
+ Addressstakeholderconcernsand manageexpectationstomaintainstakeholderengagementand satisfaction.
+ Maintain communication cadence in accordance with Client’s expectations, process, and requirements. This willincludeallcommunicationsmediums(photos,reports,meeting minutes,projectupdates,trackers,email, presentations) and at all stages of our delivery (e.g., from concept pre-requirements, stakeholder reviews through to project close out).
+ Delegatedutieswhen outofoffice toensuretasksare beingmaintainedand completed.
+ Sharebestpractices,collaboratewithcolleagues&peersacrossaworldwideorganization.
+ Design:
+ TheDC-SDPMwillensurethedesignpartnerisdevelopingsecuritydesigninaccordancewithclient’s physical security design requirements.
+ Anyalterationtostandardswillbeflaggedtotheclientandanexceptionwillbesubmittedbythe consultant.
+ TheDC-SDPMwillprovidedesign updatesweeklytotheproject teamonstatus/delivery.
+ TheDC-SDPMwillscheduleapageturnofthesecurityfinaldesignwiththestakeholderstorunthrough and sign off across the board.
+ TheDC-SDPMwillensurethatthedesignisdistributedtodependencytrades andincorporatedintothe overall project plan.
+ TheDC-SDPMwillvetthedoorhardwarescheduletofunctionalitywithoursecuritydesignapproach.
+ TheDC-SDPMwillvettheemergencyegressplantoverify functionalitywithoursecuritydesignplan.
+ Contribute,develop,and provideguidanceontheGlobalSecurityDesign Requirements(GSDR)policyand continual improvement of the specific regional standards, processes and supporting documentation.
+ Contributetothedevelopmentand continualimprovement ofthe specificstandards,processesand supporting documentation.Ensure allprocessesareoptimizedandcontinually alignedto the client requirements.
Program Management:
+ Fostera positiveteamcultureandresolveconflictsorissuesthatmayariseduringprojectexecution.
+ Aprojectplanmustbecreatedfor everyprojectsmallorlarge.
+ Thisincludesensuringthattheschedule areup-todatewith-in at leastthelast twoweeks.
+ Arepository mustbeconnectedtothe largeprojectplans,and small(whereapplicableon small)
+ TheDC-SDPMwillensureallprojectissues, risks,gaps,exceptionaredocumentedintheSmartsheetraid log as soon as the issues is defined.
+ Identifypotentialrisksanduncertaintiesthatmayimpactprojectobjectivesoroutcomes.
+ Assessthelikelihoodandimpactofrisksanddevelopriskresponsestrategiestominimizetheir effects.
+ Monitorrisktriggersandimplementcontingencyplans as necessaryto mitigateoraddressemerging risks.
+ TheDC-SDPMwillescalatesiteissueswhichimpactsecurity/schedule/costtotheclientwith-in24 hours of discovery, unless critical which should prompt immediate comms and a call.
Delivery:
+ The DC-SDPM will pull in the following partners 6-8 weeks in advance of practical completion to align on plan/scheduleGSAM(Access Management)-Developthesiteaccess levels andassignmenttoemployee's and staff GSDS Systems (System Techs) - Device Programming
+ Pre-CommissioningPreparation:
+ Verifythesite's security plan,designspecifications,andinstallationdocumentationiscompletedto standards and requirements.
+ Coordinatewiththeprojectteam,securitypersonnel,andrelevantstakeholders toschedulecommissioning activities and ensure access to necessary locations.
Physical Inspection:
+ Conductathoroughinspectionof all physicalsecuritycomponents,includingcameras,accesscontrol systems, intrusion detection sensors, and perimeter barriers.
+ Verifythatallhardwareisinstalledcorrectly,securelymounted,andproperlyalignedtoprovideoptimal coverage and functionality.
+ FunctionalTesting:
+ Witness-Testeachsecuritysystemindividuallytoensureproperfunctionalityandperformance.
+ Witness-Testaccesscontrolsystemsbyscanningcredentials(e.g.accesscards,biometrics)andverifying that access permissions are correctly enforced.
+ Witness-Testsurveillancecamerasbycheckinglivevideo feeds, PTZcontrols,motiondetection,and recording functionality.
+ Witness-Testintrusiondetectionsensors bytriggeringalarmsandverifyingthatalerts aregeneratedand received as expected.
+ IntegrationTesting:
+ Testtheintegrationbetweendifferentsecuritysystemstoensureseamlessoperationandinteroperability.
+ Verifythataccesscontrolsystemsareintegrated withsurveillance camerasforvideoverification ofaccess events.
+ Testintegrationbetweenintrusiondetectionsensorsandalarmsystemstotriggerimmediatealertsand response actions.
+ NetworkConnectivity andCommunicationTesting:
+ Verifynetworkconnectivityforallsecuritydevices toensuretheycancommunicatewitheachotherandwith central monitoring stations.
+ VerifythatIPaddresses,subnetmasks,gateways,andDNSsettingsareconfiguredcorrectlyforeachdevice.
+ HaveGNSconductbandwidthtestingtoensurethatnetworkbandwidthis sufficienttosupportvideo streaming and data transmission from surveillance cameras and other security devices.
Environmental and Power Testing:
+ Witness-Testenvironmentalmonitoringsystems,suchas temperaturesensors,toensuretheycandetectand respond to environmental threats.
+ Verify thatpowerbackup systems,suchasUPSunitsandbackupgenerators,areoperationalandcapableof providing uninterrupted power in case of outages.
+ AlarmandNotificationTesting:
+ Verify with GSOC and GSDS alarm notification system configuration and GSOC visibility is completed to ensurethatalertsaredeliveredpromptlytodesignatedrecipients viaemail,SMS, orothercommunication channels.
+ Verifythatalarmsignalsarereceivedandacknowledgedbycentral monitoringstations andsecurity personnel.
+ DocumentationandTraining:
+ Documenttheresultsofcommissioning tests,includinganyissuesordiscrepanciesidentified,andrecord corrective actions taken.
+ Whereapplicable(turnstilescontroller,intercomsystemsetc.)Verifythelocaltechhasprovidedtrainingto reception & security personnel on the operations.
