    **Winter Haven Hospital** , part of the **BayCare Health System** , is seeking a compassionate and skilled **Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)** to join our **Acute Therapy Services team** . This role involves providing inpatient speech therapy services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Winter Haven Hospital is designated as a Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus and accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Specialty units/programs also include cardiovascular ICU.

    Acute Speech Therapist Responsibilities:

    + Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.

    + Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.

    + Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.

    + Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.

    + Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

    + Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.

    + Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.

    Qualifications:

    + **Required:**

    + Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

    + Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology

    + Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

    + **Preferred:**

    + 1+ year of clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care setting

    + Experience with modified barium swallow studies and dysphagia management
