    Summary:

    Paramedic shall consistently demonstrate BayCare Health System core values. Paramedic must be a confident leader, who demonstrates good judgement and critical thinking with the ability to prioritize decisions based on patient condition. Paramedic shall have the ability to measure and re-measure drip rates for controlled substances/medications that may be administered. Paramedic is responsible for safe administration of therapeutic medications to include general properties of all types of drugs (analgesics, anti-anxiety, sedative, anti-convulsive, muscle relaxants, anti-rhythmics, anti-hypertensive, diuretics, bronchodilators, central nervous stimulants) and others as approved by transport service medical director(s). Paramedic must take consideration of potential risk associated with therapeutic drug administration. Must possess general knowledge of age and gender specific population to include GYN/OB, newborn, pediatric and geriatric population. Paramedic shall be capable of providing advanced life support emergency medical treatment of patients, including performing and interpreting ectrocardiograms (EKG), electrical intervention as required to support airway and circulation appropriate to patient condition. Paramedic shall have good verbal and written communication skills. Paramedic is required to demonstrate good physical stamina and endurance in order to walk, stand, balance and lift at times in excess of 125lbs.

    Required Licensure - Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) 16 hr.

     

    Required Certifications - State of Florida Paramedic Certification, BLS, ACLS and PALS

     

    Required Experience - Minimum of 2 years pre-hospital experience, or Minimum of 3 years hospital Emergency Department and/or Critical Care Department experience including Patient Support Technician experience and/or Emergency Services Technician experience.

    * HS Graduate or Equivalent GED

    Shift Hours:** **6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
