    Summary:

    MSL Content Engineering supports critical initiatives across the broader MSL Organization and is seeking an experienced content engineer to join the team.GenAI Content Engineering supports products through quality control, prompt engineering and fine tuning. The team is composed of content experts with backgrounds in journalism, social media, creative storytelling and editing. Content Engineers partner closely with technical teams to prompt engineer, build and ship products from lab to production. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated editorial judgment to build content-driven AI products with trust and safety at their forefront. They will demonstrate a keen eye for crafting thorough, nuanced and objective guidelines that establish and measure content quality and safety at scale. They will have a proven track record of identifying potential risks and biases in content, designing and conducting experiments to test content safety, and analyzing results to provide actionable recommendations for improvement. They will also have editing and fact-checking skills to fine tune foundational models and strategic product thinking to put user needs at the forefront of our work.

    Required Skills:

    Content Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Deliver completion of high-quality editorial work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

    2. Develop guidelines and build measurement frameworks that set content and conversational quality standards for products and features

    3. Generate content-focused insights that both fuel ideation and product strategy

    4. Lead through influence and collaboration within GenAI Content Engineering team and relevant stakeholders

    5. Identify processes and opportunities to influence through scale

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    6. 6+ years of experience in media, journalism, digital content strategy or a related field with extensive experience working on sensitive topics

    7. 1+ years working with GenAI products, prompt engineering, annotation, and/or content labeling and analysis

    8. Experience developing and refining content trust and safety guidelines, in particular around identifying risk for new content types

    9. Experience working independently and autonomously

    10. Previous experience collaborating with product and technical teams

    11. Proven knowledge of industry trends and news

    12. Proficiency in editing skills

    13. Demonstrated critical thinking skills and impeccable track record of editorial judgment around nuanced and sensitive topics (politics, bias, gender, religion etc.) to quality control large datasets of annotations for model training

    14. Experience leading and collaborating on cross-functional projects to build products, respond to urgent needs, preempt issues and address concerns in collaborative and timely fashion

    15. Experience building products related to communities and niche topics

    Public Compensation:

    $105,000/year to $152,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
