This role is a critical member of the growing Aviation Recruiting team within the People Division. This organization is responsible for hiring the airline’s Technical Operation roles, supporting the core functions of the business. The position will be a member of the Aviation Recruiting Leadership team, reporting to the Director of Technical Operations Recruiting, and will inform & lead aspects of the strategy and execution of team goals and deliverables to attract the best talent to the company.

+ Create and implement recruiting strategies to ensure the Technical Operations workgroup is staffed appropriately to achieve reliability and profitability for American Airlines
+ Care for and lead a team of recruiters, delivering operational talent needs through others
+ Tell compelling stories with data by establishing and maintaining metrics of overall staffing performance, including success criteria, assessment and metrics that demonstrate ROI including time to fill, cost per hire, diversity, retention, etc.
+ Partner closely with Tech Ops leadership in communicating clear and confident messages on the health of their hiring goals from an identified vacancy to day one
+ Elevate the candidate experience to ensure that candidates are treated with the highest standards of care and professionalism
+ Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with People Analytics team to proactively understand specific role needs and provide direction and consultation to senior leaders on emerging staffing trends and workforce analytics to ultimately deliver top talent across all operational business units, both unionized frontline and MSS
+ Leverage current and explore new recruiting technology, vendors and tools required to lead a complex team
+ Manage and maintain strong partnerships with RPO providers and other vendors, focusing on continuous improvement
+ Address and action on tactical requests, escalations and execution asks as those arise
+ Steward the team’s operational budget, continuously identifying opportunities for efficiencies
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent training/experience
+ 5 years of previous recruiting experience
+ At least 2 years of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ 5+ years of operational recruiting experience, preferably in union environments and/or for highly technical career paths
+ 3-5 years of experience in the aviation industry, with relevant understanding of the industry and demand for critical aviation roles
+ Knowledge of Technical Operations roles (Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, etc.) and the appropriate requirements,
+ Knowledge and proven application of recruiting tools and strategies (ex. LinkedIn sourcing)
+ Operated within a company with a center of excellence/HR business partner model.
+ Ability to track and report pipeline data of prospective candidates throughout the entire recruiting lifecycle
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
+ Customer service focused professional with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Excellent teamwork skills, with proven ability to work effectively in a variety of situations
+ Ability to tolerate ambiguity and ability to demonstrate flexibility and judgement under pressure
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Tableau
