    Perioperative Operational Analyst - Full Time - Days

     

    Department: OPERATING ROOM

    Job Summary

    The Perioperative Operational Analyst provides support to management as a statistical and operational analyst on the evaluation of effective of Peri-Operative processes, programs and operations systems related to productivity and efficiency of each Peri-Operative unit. This role has primary responsibility for all payroll data input, time and attendance monitoring and reporting in accordance with established protocols, policies and procedures.

     

    Performs various general clerical and technical activities and administrative procedures in support of management and program analysis for the purpose of evaluation and improvement of efficiency, effectiveness and productivity within the area.

     

    Core Job Responsibilities

     

    + Performs various activities which monitor operational effectiveness of Peri-Operative Services.

    + Familiarizes self with each unit’s activities and benchmarks through staffing utilization reports, and dialogues with charge nurse, nurse manager and/or administrator.

    + Collects information and data related to workflow charts, staffing plans, levels, work hours, overtime, and other staffing and budget projects to facilitate management decisions and plan, analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of Peri-Operative resources or operating programs.

    + Compiles and distributes statistical information and reports on proposed program goals, budgets, staff levels and performance criteria to unit managers.

    + Provides managers with objective based information for making decisions on administrative and operational aspects of Peri-Operative services in the area of employee work hour performance, data obtained for projects and resource management.

    + Makes and verifies routine calculations such as cost estimates, staff hours, workload figures, overtime rates, productivity data

    + Prepares reports, charts, graphs and narrative information using departmental data.

    + Reviews performance and management indicator reports.

    + Maintains staff utilization policies and procedures.

    + Promotes effective communication and teamwork within PeriOperative Services.

    + Supports attendance tracking and payroll submission processes.

    + Assists with budget monitoring and expense tracking.

    + Maintains forms for filings, compliance and payroll.

    + Submits benchmarking data on a monthly basis to the Administrator and Nurse Manager.

    + Performs related duties as assigned.

     

    Education/Experience Requirements

    REQUIRED:

    + Associates degree or equivalent work experience.

    + One year of experience working with data, statistics or detailed information

    + Knowledge of purposes, functions, processes, objectives, services, and resource requirements with a hospital setting.

    + Ability to maintain budgetary payroll information, organize and maintain filing systems and clerical processes and gather basic project status information.

    + Skilled in act-finding and investigative techniques;

    + Ability to effectively and quickly compile numerical or statistical data.

    + Proficient with software to product reports, graphics, spreadsheets and presentations.

    + Knowledge of software to produce documents, graphics, maintain data bases, spreadsheets, project status information and presentations.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    PREFERRED:

    + Bachelor’s degree.
