Job Summary
The Logistics Technician is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of materials, inventory, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing and distribution cycle.
The Logistics Technician serves as the primary system administrator and operational point-person for the logistics and material operation, directly executing and reconciling daily production orders, inventory movements, and transportation documentation (BOLs, customs paperwork). This position maintains strict compliance with all EHS and Quality standards, coordinates third-party logistics (3PL) operations, and actively drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and cost control. The ideal candidate possesses deep domain knowledge in warehousing, distribution, and systems administration within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Order and Inventory Management:
+ Process production orders, verify order quantities, and ensure timely logistics operations using SAP.
+ Execute logistics operations and material movements using SAP Systems.
+ Complete and review Annex Cycle Count/Review and Eagle 3 Inventory Reconciliation.
+ Reconcile material variances and execute corrective actions (e.g., performing recalibration, recounts, and escalating discussions).
+ Review and adjust LMPB tank levels for discrepancies against SAP data.
+ Perform scheduled raw and packaging cycle counts and report findings accurately.
Warehouse and Distribution Operations:
+ Coordinate the operations of the distribution center supporting the 3PL on site.
+ Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse facilities and work area and apply preventive maintenance programs.
+ Adhere to all quality, EOHS (Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety) standards and procedures.
+ Assist with the training and onboarding of new temporary or hourly staff as assigned.
+ Process and coordinate pick tasks and validate system output (like WMS pick sheets, labels, and production plans) for BUA and Special Shipments.
+ Process and manage the cleaning of Iron Mountain and EWM Transfer material locations.
+ Process and coordinate BUA Monthly/Quarterly pick sheets and production schedule coordination with Systems.
+ Verify and process receipts and backflushes of production trailers to/from Annex.
Transportation Order Processing
+ Review, open, and resolve STO issues with Line Scheduling changes.
+ Validate Loaded/Open Orders and Delivery Dates in SAP, including verifying HU tags and closing VL06O (Open Deliveries).
+ Confirm and update SNP (Supply Network Planning) spreadsheets and SNP/S&OP forecasts as needed.
+ Update STO delivery dates and Cancelled Loads in the system and spreadsheet.
+ Apply FIFO principles when issuing and processing material requests to production lines, supervise inventory levels, and coordinate cross-docking and terminal operations.
Vendor and Carrier Relations:
+ Collaborate and maintain relationships with carriers, ensuring efficient movement and delivery of goods to required destinations.
+ Oversee logistics tasks including inbounds and outbounds, and perform special transport requests.
+ Update and reconcile trailer movements with CHEP pallets and complete the CHEP Audit (PIC Audit 2 Trailer).
Budget and Cost Management:
+ Maintain logistics budgets, ensure accurate cost controls, and initiate cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Compliance and Documentation:
+ Ensure logistics operations adhere to compliance regulations, including Canadian customs procedures.
+ Maintain accurate logistics documentation, such as BOLs, shipping and receiving logs, and customs paperwork.
Technology and Systems Administration:
+ Leverage SAP for logistics operations, manage IT support for logistics technology and training, and drive continuous improvements in system efficiencies
+ SLES orders for Greenwood on weekends
+ Password/SAP maintenance for op techs/Adecco
+ Annex discrepancies for packaging materials
+ LTL shipments (scheduling, BOL's, reconciliation of UPS invoices)
+ EMOC tasks
+ Continuous Improvement (BOL to xerox, bar codes)
+ Idocs, COGI,
+ Maintain truck loading patterns in SAP
+ Back Up Application
+ Kinaxis/4Flow transition
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma
+ 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
+ Ability to adhere to all safety, EOHS, Quality, and GMP’s standards
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Tools
+ Commitment to continuous improvement and productivity
+ Demonstrated ability to work well within a team
+ Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to make decisions quickly
+ Strong problem-solving aptitude
+ Ability to stand for long periods
+ Ability to work days and/ or nights, including weekends
+ Ability to cover for vacations on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $ - $ USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year).
