The Senior Epic Principal Trainer is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the EPIC training environment, managing updates to policy and procedure documentation related to training, and conducting training for new staff, including Credentialed Trainers. Responsibilties include preparing curriculum necessary for training users in Workday and Oracle LMS systems; Taking the lead when working closely with team members on various training requests, projects, and upgrades; And utilizing knowledge of the organization’s clinical, revenue cycle or business requirements, Epic application capabilities, and his or her technical skills to implement and support Epic training initiatives.
• Achieves an in-depth understanding of the assigned software, policies and procedures, and workflows.
• Actively participates on project teams by engaging in discussions regarding building, testing, and maintaining the training environment, as well as the development and maintenance of training materials for the training and optimization programs.
• Analyzes, designs, builds, and tests the training environments.
• Supports and assists team members with less experience in maintaining the training environment and curriculum.
• Oversees the creation and monitoring of training plans for projects and upgrades.
• Spearheads the development user manuals, policies/procedures and reference materials that are relevant to current practices.
• Conducts virtual, instructor-led, classroom training sessions, in-services, group and individual instruction.
• Maintains strong relationships with analysts supporting the build environment – and review appropriate Epic documentation – to ensure that changes to the environment are appropriately communicated, incorporated into training curriculum, and built into the training environment.
• Create end-user proficiency assessments and ensure that they appropriately assess knowledge gained during virtual, instructor-led, or CBL training.
• Maintain a current understanding of the credentialing process. Coordinate and lead credentialing of new trainers as required.
• Work with the analyst team to ensure that migrations are appropriately accounted for in the training environments.
• Builds and rebuilds the training environment, as required by operational and technical needs.
• Participated in the system testing process for new functionality or large system upgrades.
• Develops and maintains training exercises, test patients and materials for users of the EHR.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience: 7 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in information systems or healthcare within the specific discipline is preferred
Licensure: Epic Certification, or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
Position Compensation Range: $31.36 - $62.72 Hourly
