    Overview:

    St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year.     Job Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations for the Access Services Department, ensuring a high level of customer service. Reports to the Circulation Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include:· Staffing the Library Service Desk and training/monitoring student workers· Opening/Closing the Library· Processing interlibrary loan requests

    Education / Experience:

    • High school diploma

    • Preferred – Bachelor Degree desirable or equivalent experience

    • 2-3 years directly related experience desired (library or customer service)

    Competencies / Skills:

    - Customer service ability and experience.

     

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to work positively and productively in a team oriented, fast paced changing environment

    • Capacity to interact professionally with the public and to work as a team member with other employees

    • Supervisory experience (training and monitoring others’ work)

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications

    • Ability to be flexible and handle frequent interruptions

    • Strong Attention to detail

    • Punctuality

    • Ability to work night and weekend hours until closing, with flexibility for daytime hours and availability for emergency backup support

    Supervision of Employees:

    Student workers (indirect)

    Work Hours:

    Part-time, 20-22 hours per week, 12 months per year
