    Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager – Southern California Expansion

    A well-established, multi-disciplinary civil engineering and land development firm is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial ** Senior Project Manager** to lead the launch and growth of its Southern California operations. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a new regional office from the ground up, with the full support of an experienced leadership team and a strong reputation in the Northern California market.

     

    Location

    - Greater Los Angeles or Orange County preferred

    - Open to other Southern California locations (e.g., San Diego, Temecula) for the right candidate

     

    - Remote to start; transition to hybrid as the office is established

    Key Responsibilities

    - Lead and grow a local civil design team (initially 1–2 design engineers and 1–2 project engineers)

     

    - Drive business development and client acquisition in the Southern California market

     

    - Oversee land development projects including grading, stormwater management, and utility design

    - Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC processes

    - Interface with local agencies (e.g., LA County, Caltrans, City of LA, OC Fire Authority)

     

    - Collaborate with Northern California leadership and support teams

     

    - Participate in hiring and mentoring of local staff

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)

     

    - PE license in California (preferred; flexibility for candidates actively pursuing licensure)

     

    - 8+ years of civil engineering experience, with 5+ years in a project management role

     

    - Proven business development experience and established client relationships in Southern California

     

    - Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (for oversight, not daily production)

     

    - Familiarity with Bluebeam; experience with Liquid Planner or Ajera is a plus

     

    Compensation & Benefits

     

    - Salary range: $130,000 – $175,000 (up to $200,000 for senior -level candidates)

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $67.00/hr.
