MEP Superintendent – Facility Solutions (Southern California)

A leading national builder is seeking a highly skilled and motivated MEP Superintendent (Facility Solutions Manager) to join its team in Southern California. This technical leadership role is responsible for managing and executing the commissioning and integration of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) systems across a portfolio of large-scale commercial projects.

Location:

- Primary base in Irvine, CA

- Travel required across Southern California (local travel with occasional overnight stays)

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and coordinate MEPF trade partners from planning through final testing

- Lead Level 4/5 commissioning efforts and manage Operational Project Readiness (OPR)

- Review design documents, submittals, and shop drawings for constructability and operability

- Develop and maintain commissioning schedules aligned with project milestones (Primavera P6)

- Track inspections, testing, and issue resolution using commissioning software (e.g., CxAlloy)

- Lead project commissioning meetings and manage documentation control

- Mentor and manage junior field engineers and associates

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of experience in commercial construction with MEPF/building controls contractors, general contractors, or commissioning agencies

- Strong knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, electrical, plumbing, and building controls systems

- Experience across multiple market segments (e.g., healthcare, aviation, education)

- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Office Suite, Adobe Cloud, and SharePoint

- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred; certifications such as LEED, BCxP, or PE are a plus but not required

- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent trade experience also considered

Compensation & Benefits:

- Salary range: $120,000 – $160,000 (typical offers between $130,000 – $165,000)

- Monthly auto allowance: $1,350 (no mileage reimbursement)

Additional Notes:

- Candidates must be comfortable working in the field and managing multiple projects simultaneously (15–25 active projects)

- Reporting to Regional MEP Leadership; potential to manage 2–6 direct reports over time

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
